Patrimonio is a Peruvian brand that captures both the historical and popular culture of Peru. Its creator, Miguel Ángel Torres, is an industrial designer whose love for art comes alive in his eye-catching creations. Let's learn more about him and his vision.
"My academic background allowed me to see the textile industry as a tool and medium to bring my vision to life," says Miguel Ángel, who found in design not only a way to pursue his passion for fashion but also a way to express his deep love for his homeland.
This is how Patrimonio was born—a brand that emerged from his search for identity within the country that raised him. "I wanted to create a platform where I could showcase my vision of everything around me," explains Torres, who sought a sense of belonging that would resonate with his fellow Peruvians, offering them a window into his world.
Patrimonio's mission is to tell the story of Peru through the eyes of its designer. "I want to redefine what it means to be Peruvian, to reflect on ourselves and rediscover that identity," says Miguel. This vision is embodied in pieces like his distinctive bags, especially the well-known "micrototes," inspired by the colorful bus tickets of Lima's public transport.
"Accessories are something I love to design because they allow you to express your personality," notes the designer behind Patrimonio. Soon, he'll be unveiling a new collection dedicated to his grandparents and a reflective journey into his childhood—creations that his followers will soon be able to enjoy.
Miguel Torres is a powerful example of how we can share our love for our homeland through everyday elements that not only symbolize daily life but also reflect a piece of the country’s rich history.
